After enjoying more than our fair share of sunny warm days in January, winter returned to Denver today bringing sloppy wet roads and chilly temps. Our meteorologists told us to brace for an “epic” blizzard with upwards of 16 inches of snow, schools were closed in anticipation of the wintry blast, and we all braced for the worst. Thankfully, forecast models were very wrong and we have but a few paltry wet inches (I’m even hopeful that the roads and trails will be clear by the end of the week)! Until then, and because I didn’t feel like schlepping around in the muck, today’s photo was shot right out the back door and this time of year, it’s either squirrels (meh)or birds, and I chose the later.
Taken with my Canon 60D, Manual settings at 1/500, f5.6, ISO 500 with a +1 flash exposure compensation. I will admit to being both amused and slightly annoyed that the birds sat soooo far away from each other – zero cooperation from my subjects today…
