Today I had my first paid photography gig and I feel like I was given the chance to photograph folks, not for one moment did it feel like work or a job. I was the sole race photographer at a small local running race here in Denver, CO. The Bunny Bolt 1K kids run and 5 & 10K was put on by Action for Amyloidosis and the primary purpose of the race was to raise money for people battling the life-threatening disease that affects the major organs, the funds raised are for those facing mounting medical bills. I was worried that the turnout would be pretty low given the 24 degree temp at the start, but folks showed up, donned their rabbit ears, and ran for the cause.
Lucky for me there is no shortage of outdoor events in Colorado which is really good as I instantly fell in love and felt at ease with snapping away at the racers. Also, lucky for me, my sweet hubby held an umbrella so I could keep my lens clear and dry! Love that guy!
Today’s pic is of the start of the kids 1K race and was taken with my Canon 6D and Canon EF 70-200L lens settings on Manual at 1/500s, f11, ISO 3200
