I somehow found myself in Boulder, CO again this afternoon, and as I strolled along Pearl Street Mall searching for today’s pic I stumbled across this man making what appears to be a butterfly salad, maybe…? I’ve got to be honest and tell you that I really don’t have a clue as to what his end game was here. Frankly, I don’t think anyone else knew either, yet a small crowd gathered around his creation and him because there was just something about him. Maybe after a long, wet, and rather dreary weekend we were all willing to look past his artistic messiness and find beauty in the unknown. I tried to engage him in conversation after dropping a dollar into his cup, but he was in a world that I’m not privy too and his mumblings made little sense to me.
Whatever it was, he thought it was brilliant because at one point he took a step back from his work, put his hands rather triumphantly onto his bony hips and smiled while nodding as if to say, “hell yes, that’s it”. I laughed, smiled and headed on my way…I still don’t have a clue what that was, but it, and he, were both fascinating!
Both photos were taken using my Canon 60D and 50mm lens.
