I really love kicking off my weekend with a Saturday morning race. Today I was lucky enough to shoot a half-marathon on the grounds of what used to be Denver’s Stapleton Airport. After our current Airport (DIA) was built-in 1995, the once deteriorating grounds and crumbling neighborhood was re-purposed and converted into a variety of residential spaces, boutique style retail shops and beautiful parks and open-space areas. I have to admit, It’s really quite lovely.
As I sat on the ground snapping away at the runners passing by, I looked up and saw this little guy perched on a nearby street-lamp. Lucky for me there was a lull in the action and I was able to capture him, breakfast in tow, just watching the race from up above…
